Reluce began its journey as a fashion and lifestyle brand in 2013 opening its first store in Banani. It is a sister concern of Partex Star Group. Now after three years, they have a total of three showrooms located in Gulshan, Jamuna Future Park, and the biggest being in Uttara, a two storied outlet.
Deputy manager (brand communication) of the Partex Star Group, Falguni Barua, elaborated on the kind of brand Reluce aims to build in Bangladesh. The target of Reluce is the urban crowd who has an ever changing taste influenced by the global demand for the new and refreshing. So, the brand tries to cater to men, women and children with a blend of ethnic and western fashion. Their Gulshan outlet is spread over 3000 square that is divided into 4 zones- ladies, gents, children and household items.
For gents, there are a large array of graphic t- shirt, jeans, formal shirts and pants, subdued but elegant blazers and panjabi with variety of pattern. However, the most exciting new addition to the gents collection at Reluce is their use of a new kind of fabric for formal shirts called Bamsilk. It is a soft, silky, wrinkle- free fabric that is made of bamboo and is supposed to give a light, feathery feeling for those who must dress to impress but still want the comfort of breathable material with a slick texture. The Bamsilk shirts come in checkered, striped and gingham print in many pleasing colors that are sure to catch the fashionable man’s eye. Reluce also has an impressive collection of shoes and bags for men. These include strappy sandals and leather or suede loafers and well made backpacks in many sizes. Men’s item go from Tk.1400 – Tk.7000 for shirts and panjabi and Tk.1700 – Tk. 6000 for shoes.
For the ladies, Reluce has a variety of vibrant colored kurta, silky trousers and long, printed skirts that are ubiquitious in fashion right now. They have many different cuts of tops with lace, flowy fabrics and floral prints. There is also shari that range from muslin cotton, screen print applique, embriodery, and jamdani. Reluce focuses on local craftsmen and their very own designer for their products. So, when it comes to shari, most of it is curated from tati palli in Narayanganj. However, to keep up with the current demands, the fashion house also carries some south indian shari as well as indian georgette with jardosi work. The price of their shari and kamiz range from Tk.2000 – Tk.6000. Reluce also boasts a more elegant line of women’s collection known as the Saha collection. Designed by the Bangladeshi- Canadian designer Natasha Saha, the line debuted in Eid- ul- Fitr, 2016. The Saha Collection makes gorgeously embroidered dresses fit for a deshi black tie event. The shoe collection at Reluce has both flats and heels, especially focused on the current trend of brightly colored chunky heels for women. There are also leather tote bags and blinged out party purses to add a useful finishing touch to any look.
The kid’s collection at Reluce is large and diverse. There are jeans, tops, skirts, simple, summer dresses as well as big, poufy, party dresses for little girls. For the slightly older girls, age 8 or 10 years, Reluce even has readymade shari and matching blouse for them. For boys, there are lots of different kinds of t-shirts with fun patterns or cartoon prints. For special occasions, such as eid, matching kurta for mom and daughter or matching panjabi for father and son can be found at this store. Flat shoes and strappy sandals are easily available for both boys and girls.
As for household items, there are bed sheets, pillow covers, curtain, table cloth, satranji that are all local products. For decoration, the showroom has many different types of lampshades, photo frames, mirrors, clocks as well as colorful pottery such as mugs, cups, teapot etc.
So, whether to buy something fashionable with quality for oneself or another, Reluce can be a one stop shop for those with a youthful style and diverse taste.
