This portmanteau of breakfast and lunch can range from anything as simple as toasted sandwich and fruit juice to pancakes drizzled with honey lemon sauce to Deshi style brunch with parathas and meat or even a pan Asian dim sum brunch.

A brunch is all about leisurely enjoying the food and relishing the experience with your loved ones. A busy weekday would hardly make an apt choice for that. Thus, many fine dining restaurants save brunch for weekends only. Depending on your choice you may want to have a bottomless buffet brunch or a simple one dish brunch with a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Trends will be talking about two dining places to offer you both the options.


The Eatery

‘The Eatery’ is situated on the 24th floor of Four points by Sherarton , Dhaka. Boasting an international cuisine, they serve brunch from 10.30 a.m to 4.00 p.m on weekends. Bird’s eye view of the minarets of the mosques, numerous high raised buildings amidst lush greeneries here and there, allows the food connoisseurs to relax as they munch on their brunch. While dining, you can contemplate on the subdued golden motifs around you depicting abstract patterns of mosques-a heritage of Dhaka city.

Their Brunch menu includes pan Asian items like sushi sashimi, Thai beef salad, beef conjee or butter fried rice. If you prefer continental items then you can go for their caprese salad, pizzas, croissants or smoked salmon. To Americanize your brunch you may want to opt for Corned beef hash or their pancakes. Since it’s a buffet brunch you can simply mix and match all these items to experience a true international cuisine.

Upon entering you would see the drinks counter with different types of breads and buns. Your choice of tea or coffee would be freshly brewed here. If you prefer a decaffeinated weekend then freshly squeezed fruit juices tastefully served with carved fruits are there to quench your thirst.

They have four stations for brunch- the drinks counter, a salad bar, the main course station boasting dishes from various corners of the world and a dessert corner. The healthy corner serves assorted fruits, cheese, muesli, sushi, prawn cocktails, smoked salmon salads etc. Arrays of condiments like the Thousand Island dressing or balsamic dressing are also on display should you want to customize your salads.

In the live station the chef can cook you the pasta of your choice. Same goes for the pizza and omelettes where you modify your dishes according to your taste with or without mushroom, cheese or onions etc and see it being cooked live in front of you.

Finally, when you are done the dessert corner will await you with moist chocolate brownies oozing with flavour or vibrant trifles and much more. Along with their brunch menu items you can also try their regular breakfast items here for brunch and all of it will cost you Tk 2,500+

The duplex building reflects a continental vibe in a timeless combination of black and white- designed by Italian consultant Ria Pawar. Albeit, you can enjoy your brunch anywhere inside this spacious restaurant decorated with floral wallpapers, abstract paintings. However, if you appreciate nature their terrace would be ideal for you. The serene lake overlooking a pristine white railing offers a soothing experience for the famished late risers. Even after you are done, you can let the breeze sweep over you enjoy your latte or cappuccino and the view.

For brunch they offer salads, sandwiches, burgers, and egg specialities like Eggs Benedict, Eggs Florentine and their signature brick wood oven fired pizzas, coffee and smoothies. What sets them apart is their usage of their organically produced farm fresh products. Since no pre packaged milk or meat is used in here the dishes offer the authentic taste in their cheeses or milk or sausage meats. Not only has that, their American Chef, George liked to add a touch of home cooked meal to their items. Hence he employs many techniques in the cooking that he learned from his mother.

Try their Massimo a pizza that offers a pleasant smoky flavour since it is cooked in the traditional way as opposed to an electric oven. They make use of a variety of cheese in their pizza, burgers and sandwiches like the sweetish milky Swiss gruyere cheese, the strongly flavoured blue cheese, freshly prepared mozzarella and ricottas. So the creamy rich flavour is detectable in most of the items.

Also items like potato ricotta pancakes, antipasti deserve a try too. If you are a vegetarian try their oozy gooey grilled cheese sandwiches. Chows is a great option for those who prefer to relish single items rather than making a platter.


Of course you can have it your way by combining various items or simply sticking to one item like the Eggs Benedict served on fluffy, soft crumpets or thin crusted wheat flour based pizzas. Depending on your order their brunch items would cost you between Tk 500- 1,800
