M. F. Husain’s- Journey in graphics at Gallery Kaya

Gallery Kaya showcased an exhibition of works by famous Indian master painter Maqbool Fida Husain, also known as M. F. Husain. The first major solo exhibition of Husain in Bangladesh titled ‘M. F. HUSAIN – Journey in Graphics’ featured his important graphic artworks. Finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith and minister for cultural affairs Asaduzzaman Noor jointly inaugurated the exhibition on January 24 at Galleri Kaya. A selection of 59 of his works done in Serigraph, lithograph and Silk Screen on paper was showcased in this exhibition.
Besides painting, he also made feature films, including Through the Eyes of a Painter (1966), which won the ‘Golden Bear Award’, at the Berlin Film Festival (1967). The Government of India honored him with the ‘Padma Bhushan’ and the ‘Padma Vibhushan’ awards, both prestigious civilian awards.
