A three-day long Youth Leadership Summit, with the theme Strengthening the Spirit of Public Leadership: A Journey from I to We, was held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre from June 11 to June 13.
Bangladesh Youth Leadership Centre (BYLC), the country’s first leadership institute, hosted the Summit which brought together 500 national and international delegates, representing five continents, and 50 national and international speakers including experts from Harvard University and Cambridge Leadership Associates for three days of knowledge sharing, leadership training, and networking. The title sponsors of the Summit were UK Government and UNDP and the public sector partner was the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
The Summit featured a mix of plenary and panels on youth in civil service, education and career, sustainable development, innovation for the public good, gender and leadership, good governance, active citizenship, and youth entrepreneurship, interspersed with leadership workshops and reflection exercises. Leveraging on this platform, the delegates built lasting relationships, engaged in interdisciplinary dialogue, and developed cooperative responses for addressing shared challenges.
