Kay Kraft celebrates at Dhaka Regency 25th anniversary

Kay Kraft, a renowned fashion brand of the country, celebrated the 25th anniversary of the brand at the Dhaka Regency Hotel and Resort on May 14.
For the past 25 years, Kay Kraft has been a stalwart in the fashion industry for their innovative and playful way of cherishing traditions and heritage for the young minds of the country.
Gates for the visitors opened at 7 pm. The gala officially started with the national anthem. The event was ushered by Ms Taniya Hossain, who called Ms. Shahnaz Khan and Khalid Mohammad Khan, the genius couple behind the inception of Kay Kraft, on stage. They thanked everyone and said how important it is for them to be there celebrating the 25th year of success. Afterwards, an audio-visual presentation showed the journey of Kay Kraft for the guests before the fashion queues started.
This event also marked the launching of YoungKay, a new venture focused on contemporary and western designs for the youth. In total, there were 10 queues, 8 for Kay Kraft and 2 for YoungKay. Each of the queues showcased dresses under particular themes and colour combinations.
The first queue showcased the dresses Kay Kraft makes for various events and celebrations of the country. There were dresses for international mother language day, Independence Day, pahela falgun, for rainy season, pohela boishakh, rabindra joyonti, Valentine ’s Day etc.
The second queue, called ‘Swornoshubhro’, showed dresses featuring white and golden colours. The next queue was titled ‘akashneela’ and featured white and blue as the primary colours for the dresses. The fourth queue ‘bornali bunon’ featured various vibrant colours. The fifth queue, called ‘shomudro boson’ had blue-ish green as its primary colour. The sixth queue was titled ‘royalty of blue and black’, and the seventh queue ‘harmony of metallic shine’ featured glossy golden, black and red as its primary colours. Kay Kraft’s showcase ended with the eighth queue, which showcased their bridal collection.
Afterwards, the brand new collection of YoungKay was showcased, featuring the indo-western collection. The first queue displayed YoungKay white, and the second queue displayed the YoungKay eid collection.
Kay Kraft featured unstitched yard fabric in handloom cotton, voile, linen, two-tone cotton, endi cotton, dobby design cotton, half silk, jacquard, georgette and many more. The collection featured designs from Crete, Africa, ethnic patterns, as well as geometric, jamdani, floral and Islamic motifs and many more.
The clothing line up features sari, shalwar kameez, long and regular kurti, skirts and tops, panjabis and t-shirts.
The fashion show was choreographed by Ms Sanjida Haq Luna and Persona did the makeover of the models. At the end of the fashion show, the designers of Kay Kraft went up on stage and thanked everyone.
After the fashion show, Joler Gaan went up on stage to perform their popular hits such as ‘emon Jodi hoto’, ‘bokul phool’, ‘horek ronger bahare’ etc. Later the guests went on to have dinner to draw an end to the grand night.
